If you’re about to start planning for a baby shower and need a few baby shower recipes then you have loads of interesting options. Take a look below at some of our favorite baby shower drink and food recipes that are perfect all year round.

Punches

If you want to prepare a punch drink for your guests why not try one of our favorites. For this baby shower recipes all you’ll need is a large punch bowl, a two-liter bottle of lemon-lime soda, add to that a large can of pineapple juice, and a quart of rainbow sherbet. Pour the soda and juice into the punch bowl together, and right before presentation, float scoops of the sherbet on top. This is a delightfully sweet tasting drink that everyone is sure to enjoy.

Appetizers

One of our favorite baby shower recipes for appetizers include mini finger sandwiches. For example you can make these with a filling made from a fine tuna salad, and garnished with thin slices of cucumber. If you are planning on serving something warm then Mini Quiche Lorraines are a wonderful addition that everyone loves. In addition you could also prepare a few dips and have these with with crackers and cheese.

Main Course

Baby shower recipes for the main course should be kept simple and definitely not time consuming. One of our particular favorite baby shower recipes for a great casserole is a cheesy chicken, broccoli and rice casserole. For this you need to mix two cups of chopped chicken with about one pound of frozen broccoli and two cups of rice. Add four cups of water and a can of cream of mushroom soup, mix and combine well. Bake in a 400F degree oven for about one hour. Remove from the oven and top with a cup of cheddar cheese. Return to the oven and bake for further thirty minutes. The result is a perfect casserole! If you are not overly fond of broccoli you could instead substitute it with a vegetable combination using peas, baby corn, bell peppers, onion, cauliflower and carrot…yum yum.

Dessert

Do you need dessert baby shower recipes? We suggest you bake a baby bootie shaped cake, decorated with pink or blue frosting. You can decorate the top of the cake with small baby items such as teething rings and pacifiers, which mom can take home with her at the end of the party.

The most important thing to remember when considering baby shower recipes is that the new mother may still be experiencing nausea and morning sickness, so you should probably stay away from spicy recipes, and anything that may upset her tummy. Notwithstanding you can still make a delicious range of simple foods that the mother-to-be and all the other guests can enjoy.
